For the third consecutive year, the Society took part in Hands on DC, an all-volunteer non-profit effort that runs an annual one day work-a-thon to improve conditions in DC's public schools and raises money for college scholarships. This year we helped to paint murals at the KIPP AIM School in Southeast DC on April 25. It's our way of giving back to our home away from Connecticut. View more pictures.

Our annual Congressional reception on February 10 was a huge success with over 200 people joining us at the historic Mansfield Room in the U.S. Capitol. Below, Society President Brian Mahar and Congressman Chris Murphy listen to Senator Chris Dodd. We were also honored to hear from Congressman Joe Courtney. Congressman John Larson and Congressman Jim Himes took time out of ther busy schedules to stop by as well.
